Sanchez Feels Good About Performing At Home

Sanchez is very happy with his decision to perform in Jamaica more frequently this year.

The lovers rock crooner has been in high demand in his homeland this year with performances at major events including Rebel Salute and Reggae Sumfest. The singer also hosts a weekly party event in St. Ann that has been gaining traction in the competitive Jamaican party scene.

“I guess you could say that this is the year of Sanchez,” the reggae veteran said.

Sanchez received a lot of attention when it was announced that he would he performing on Rebel Salute in January of this year. That marked his first performance in Jamaica in a decade. The “Lonely Won’t Leave Me Alone” singer has also been performing in the United Kingdom, the wider Caribbean and Canada. Last month he performed at the annual Montreal International Reggae Festival calling it one of his most memorable performance.

“Montreal is one of my best loved cities and Montreal Reggae Festival is one of my favourite shows, and this year in particular it was very special,” Sanchez said. “I performed on Saturday night along with Charlie Chaplin, Brigadier Jerry, Josey Wales, Romain Virgo, Jahmiel and Barrington Levy, and all I can say is that it was definitely an old school and a singers’ crowd, and we all did well.”

Sanchez next major appearance will be at the CB Pan Chicken National Finals schedule for October 30th at Half Way Tree.
