The “Work” singer reacted to the news on Twitter. “Honored to take the #VMAs stage as your video #VANGUARD award recipient LIVE from NYC on August 28!” she tweeted.

The Bajan pop star joined a list of powerhouse artists who have since received the Video Vanguard Award such as Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Beyoncé, Kanye West, Britney Spears, and Beastie Boys.
