Kalado To Stand Trial For Assaulting Female

Kalado will stand trial for his ongoing assault case involving a female. His trial date is set for September 14.

Kalado, whose real name is Eton Gordon, was charged with assault occasioning bodily harm after a female filed a police report against him. The female told police that the artist pulled up beside her in his car while she was walking on the side of the road and assaulted her.

The dancehall deejay pleaded not guilty when he appeared in the Kingston and St Andrew Parish Court in Half-Way-Tree earlier this week. She also told the court that she had no relations with Kalado and that he previously threatened her during a previous encounter.

The case was referred to go to mediation on June 13th but only the complainant turned up. Justice Simone Wolfe-Reece reprimanded Kalado for failing to show up at the mediation.

“I don’t think you understand. You are charged with a criminal offence that will take you to prison. We are not working on your schedule, we are not trying to fit in your life,” the judge said.

Kalado’s attorney Patrick Peterkin asked the judge for a second mediation but that will only happen if the victim agrees.
