Rich Homie Quan Apologize After Flubbing Notorious B.I.G. Lyrics

Rich Homie Quan is feeling bad after getting a lot criticism for flubbing Notorious B.I.G.’s lyrics during a performance on VH1’s Hip Hop Honors on Tuesday night.

The Atlanta rapper was performing Junior M.A.F.I.A.’s “Get Money” single with Lil’ Kim but he totally forget some of the lyrics for Biggie Smalls verse. The reaction on Twitter from hip hop fans was swift.

He was also the theme of several memes, as well as, social commentary from other rappers like The Game. Quan has since taken to his Instagram page

“I assure you that I never intended to disrespect Biggie Smalls,” Rich Homie Quan said. “I have long respected his work and his contribution to the rap game.I greatly apologize not only to Biggie Smalls, but also to all of my fans and to New York. The city of New York has been nothing but good to me.”

“I felt honored to stand on stage with artists I grew up listening to,” the rapper added. “Once on stage I had some technical difficulties and must admit I got nervous.I will forever be sorry to New York, my fans, Biggie Small, Lil Kim, and all the Hip Hop community for my performance. I hope you can accept my apology. To Lil Kim, Thank you for the opportunity.”

Some folks are already saying that Rich Homie Quan just create career suicide but he is getting some support from Biggie Small’s widow Faith Evans who are asking fans to cut him some slack, TMZ reported.

Lil Kim is also supporting RHQ by reposting his apology statement and leaving a statement of her own.

“Spoken like a true giant,” she said. “I loved you before and I’m gonna love you after Rich Homie. People make mistakes and things happen sometimes that we can’t fix or undo. If you guys only knew the technical difficulties that went on behind the scenes.”
