Check out some of the lyrics:

“Something don’t feel right / Because it ain’t right / Especially comin’ up after midnight / I smell your secret, and I’m not too perfect / To ever feel this worthless / How did it come down to this? / Going through your call list / I don’t wanna lose my pride, but I’ma f**k me up a b**ch / Know that I kept it sexy, and know I kept it fun / There’s something that I’m missing, maybe my head for one,” Beyonce sings over a reggae beat.

“Hold Up” was produced by Diplo, Ezra Koeing and Beyonce herself. Diplo of Major Lazer is known to produced reggae/dancehall infused singles that eventually becomes huge hits.

But Beyonce is not new to injecting Jamaican music into her own music. Back in 2011 she released “Run The World (Girls)” which was co-written by Vybz Kartel. That track also sampled Kartel’s single “Pon De Floor” which co-incidentally was produced by Major Lazer. That track peaked at No. 29 on Billboard Hot 100 and was certified gold in the U.S.
