Dancehall deejay QQ is the latest local celebrity to suffer fallout at the hands of scammers.
The deejay recently revealed that he was defrauded JM$3.8 million (US$32,000) which was stolen from his bank account.
“He went to use his card at a machine and it wasn’t working so he contacted the bank,” QQ father, GQ, said. “When he got in touch with the bank they told him he had no funds in the account and he asked them how that was possible. They explained that he had been spending huge funds over the past few days doing online shopping, but QQ was not the one making the purchases.”
GQ also added that the bank is currently investigating the incident and could filed a report to the relevant authority.
QQ celebrated his 22nd birthday last week.
