Bobby Shmurda Could Be Granted Bail This Week

Bobby Shmurda is one step closer to being release from jail on a $2 million bail.

Earlier this year a judge set the massive bail figure but for the most part the New York rapper and his team have been unable to come up with the cash or collateral.

TMZ reported that members of Shmurda’s family, particularly his aunt, stepped up to offer collateral in the form of several properties. The “Hot N****” rapper legal team has since put together a 200-page legal document to put before a judge as early as this week.

Bobby Shmurda has been denied bail five times this year prompting his fans to lose hope that he would ever be released before his trial or any at all. At his last bail hearing, Prosecutor Nigel Farinha told the judge that the 21-year-old rapper is a flight risk due to his ties in Florida.

Bobby Shmurda, whose real name is Ackquille Jean Pollard, was arrested in a massive police raid on a studio in New York in December last year. He along with several members of his GS9 crew were charged with drug trafficking and weapons possession.

Shmurda trial date is set for February 22, 2016. He is facing up to 25 years in federal prison if convicted.
