Radio Legend Casey Kasem Dead At 82

Radio legend Casey Kasem passed away on Sunday at the age of 82.

His daughter Kerri Kasem confirmed his death via Facebook saying he was surrounded by close family at the time of his death.

“Even though we know he is in a better place and no longer suffering, we are heartbroken,” she said.

Kasem, who was the original host of American Top 40, had a long battle with Parkinson’s Disease and dementia.

Casey Kasem founded American Top 40 in 1970 and also hosted the hugely popular show for over three decades. He also voice famous cartoon characters such as Shaggy from “Scooby-Doo” and Robin from “Super Friends.”

Ryan Seacrest and DJ Clue are among some big name celebrities and radio personality who pay homage to Casey Kasem.
