Diddy Tops Forbes Five Wealthiest Hip-Hop Artists List 2014

Sean “Diddy” Combs continues to reign a top hip-hop when it comes to wealth.

The music mogul was name number one on Forbes Five: Hip-Hop’s Wealthiest Artists 2014 with an estimated net worth of $700 million thanks to a growth of $120 million over the past year.

With this level of growth, Diddy will soon become hip-hop’s first billionaire. Diddy’s newest addition to his portfolio is Rovolt TV which he launched in select markets last year.

“Right now my focus is Revolt and making it the number one, most-trusted, most credible worldwide brand for music,” Diddy told FORBES recently. “And to get Revolt to be the quintessential definition of real time. I think that’s the future.”

Mega producer/rapper Dr. Dre jump one place past Jay Z to secure second place with an estimated net worth of $550 million. Dre owes most of his wealth to his large stake in Beats By Dr. Dre which is valued at close to $2 billion.

Jay Z is currently in third place with an estimated net worth of $520 million thanks mostly to his $204 million sale of Rocawear in 2007 and his $150 million deal with Live Nation in 2008. Jay Z is also seeing major growth in his label Roc Nation which is the home to artists including Rihanna, Rita Ora, J Cole and more.

Birdman and 50 Cent rounded out the top five with an estimated net worth of $160 million and $140 million respectively.
