Did Drake steal music from late jazz musician Jimmy Smith for his latest platinum-selling album Nothing Was The Same?
According to TMZ, Drake stole music from Jimmy Smith’s classic 1982 single “Jimmy Smith Rap” and lied that he got permission to use it.

The 35 seconds monologue appeared on Drake’s single “Pound Cake/Paris Morton Music 2.”
Jimmy Smith’s Estate filed a $300,000 lawsuit against Drake claiming they never gave the Toronto rapper permission to use the recording, nor did anyone ask for permission.
Drake has not responded to the accusation.
