DETAILS: Vybz Kartel Trial: Prosecution Rest Case, Defense Complete No Case

On Monday the prosecution rest its case after 46 days and 24 witnesses.

The Crown, headed by attorney Jeremy Taylor, presented its case claiming that Vybz Kartel, real name Adidja Palmer, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, André St John, and Shane Williams beat Clive “Lizard” Williams on August 16, 2011 at a house in Havendale over two missing guns.

Authorities say then men cut his body up and disposed of it. His remains were never found.

The defense countered saying the entire case was fabricated by the Jamaica Constabulary Force, JCF, with the help of a bogus informant to secure a conviction.

The defense is hoping that the judge will accept the no case submission and free the accused men.
