Bruno Mars, the little guy from Hawaii created history when he performed at last weekend’s Super Bowl halftime show.

Mars performance with the Red Hot Chili Peppers at New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium drew the largest viewership in Super Bowl history with a whopping 115.3 million people tuning in.

The figures eclipse that of Madonna and Nicki Minaj’s 114 million viewers in 2012 and Beyonce’s 110.8 million in 2013.

The Super Bowl game which the Seatle Seahawks ultimately won also shattered records by becoming the most watched event in U.S. television history. Over 111 million people tuned in to watch the game.
