Kartel Murder Trial: Public Defender Subpoena To Hand Over Witness Letter

Vybz Kartel murder trial continued yesterday in the Home Circuit court in Kingston where the prosecution star witness wrapped up his testimony.

Defense lawyer Tamika Harris grilled the witness, whose testimony has not been holding up under pressure by lawyers representing the co-accused.

But the major development in the case on Monday was the appearance of Public Defender Earl Witter, who was subpoena to hand over a letter allegedly sent to him from the trial’s main witness in November of 2011.

According to reports, the witness wrote the letter and sent it to the Public Defender after he allegedly say he saw Clive Williams after the attack had took place.

The witness Lamar Chow has denied that he saw Williams and also denied sending the letter to the Public Defender.

Kartel, whose real name is Adidja Palmer, is jointly charged along with protege Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, André St John, and Shane Williams for the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.

According to authorities, Clive “Lizard” Williams was beaten to death on August 16, 2011 at a home in Havendale.

His body has not been found.
