Eminem New Album ‘MMLP2’ Sold 792K In First Week

Eminem proves he is the real rap god when he sold 792,000 copies of his new album The Marshall Mathers LP 2 in its first week of release.

As expected the album debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart after exceeding the projected 750,000 copies by Nielsen SoundScan.

That sales figure was enough to give Eminem the second biggest opening week of the year, behind Justin Timberlake The 20/20 Experience, and the sixth biggest first week sales of the last five years.

The album is also the Detroit rapper’s seventh No. 1 album of his 8 album career.

Drake’s Nothing Was The Same moved to third highest first week sales after moving 658,000 copies in its first week.

Eminem’s previous album Recovery, released in 2010, sold 741,000 copies in its first week of release.
