Justin Timberlake Rescued Miley Cyrus From Harsh Backlash [VIDEO]

Former Disney child star Miley Cyrus is still facing plenty backlash following her raunchy performance at Sunday’s MTV VMAs at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn.

Despite the harsh criticism, she is getting some support from an unlikely source, Justin Timberlake.

Timberlake stopped by New York’s Hot 97 radio station where he shared his thoughts on Miley Cyrus, as well as, working with Jay-Z and Drake.

Speaking with Angie Martinez, Timberlake says folks need to cut Miley some slack.

“It’s the VMAs,” Justin Timberlake said. “It’s not the Grammys. We’re talking about Madonna in a wedding dress humping the stage, we’re talking about Britney doing a striptease. This cycle is not uncommon. … I’m saying she’s young, take it easy on her. I think [‘We Can’t Stop’] is jammin’ when I hear it on the radio. I like all the bears. To me, it’s almost like if something like that doesn’t happen at the VMAs, then I feel like it was boring.”

On working with Jay-Z and Drake on the 20/20 Experience, Timberlake says it was all fun.

“All of these songs were recorded together a year ago. So the song that Jay’s on on the second half, it was a song I had done, and I was like, put an extra 16 bars on there, because I know Hov would like – I just heard him on it,” Timberlake said.

“The Drake thing was a song that was sitting around, and I just heard him on it,” Timberlake said. “And Drake and I were trying to get at each other about doing a record, and I think we’ll probably end up doing more as time goes by as well. The guy sings, raps, whatever. . . . He killed it.”
