Theodore Whitmore Resigns As Reggae Boyz Fell 2-0 To Honduras

Jamaica football team head coach Theodore Whitmore has handed in his resignation after the Reggae Boyz lost 2-0 to Honduras on Tuesday night.

Jamaica chances of qualifying grew very thin after three consecutive loss to the United States, Mexico and Honduras.

According to reports Jamaica Football Federation, JFF, president called a meeting this morning with Whitmore, JFF general secretary, assistant coach Braziloian Alfredo Montesso, and Michael Ricketts where the head coach was given the option to be fired or resign.

“Following that meeting, coach Whitmore took the decision to tender his resignation,” Burrell said at a press conference.

“A coach’s tenure depends on the results. Admittedly, the results over the past months have not been good and hence I have, without any reservation, accepted coach Whitmore’s resignation,” Horace Burell added.

Theodore Whitmore reportedly earned JM$1 million per month as head coach.

His replacement is rumored to be Neville Bell.
