Last month, Vybz Kartel released a lengthy letter to his fans accusing Jamaican law enforcement officials of fabricating his entire case as part of a conspiracy to have him permanently put behind bars.

Vybz Kartel, who is still immensely popular in dancehall, now want his fans to lend their support in stepping up their pressure on the Jamaican justice system and law enforcement officials.

Vybz Kartel says he wants one of two things, to be granted bail or put on trial.

A close associated of the “Dancehall Hero,” who visited him in jail last week, told Urban Islandz that he will not go down without a fight.

“Addi is well aware of the corrupt Babylon system and trust me we wont stand by and let them send a innocent man to prison,” the source said.

“Addi want all him fans them to step up the pressure on the corrupt system and let them grant Di Teacha bail or start the trial asap so him can defend himself,” the source added.

“Not every police is corrupt and we are receiving solid intel on what the corrupt ones are up to,” the source continues.

Vybz Kartel upcoming trial date is set for May 27, however, his trial has been plagued with numerous delays since his arrest in September of 2011.

Vybz Kartel, government name Adidja Palmer, was arrested by a large contingent of police on September 30, 2011 at a hotel in Kingston.

Days later he was charged with the murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams and Barrington “Bossie” Burton.

According to official police report, Williams was murdered at a home in Havendale over a missing firearm. While Burton, who is a promoter/businessman, was murdered in a drive by shooting in Gregory Park, St. Catherine.

Police say they are in possession of video evidence linking Vybz Kartel to Williams’ murder. His body was not found.

Vybz Kartel has maintained his innocence saying the police are out to get him.

This is what Vybz Kartel said in a open letter from behind bars last month:

“In 2011, I was charged for murder by way of a statement which indicated that I had ordered Lenburgh McDonald to murder Barrington ‘Bossie’ Burton. Weeks later, said witness gave a statement to the Public Defender saying that he was physically assaulted and threatened by the police to say that I was involved in ‘Bossie’ Burton’s death. Days later, he gave another statement to the Public Defender saying that since he recanted the first statement, he has been getting death threats via calls to his phone.”

“Days after my first murder charge, I was charged with another murder (Clive ‘Lizard’ Williams). In this case, the police (by way of a Senior Superintendent who was later charged with “attempting to pervert the course of justice” in a separate incident) campaigned every Monday morning on a certain TV station claiming they had DNA evidence, which came back 7 months later as negative. They also led the public to believe that they had video tape of me and my co-accused murdering Williams. I would like to add that the police made a lot of damaging remarks against me. A most notable one would be “since his arrest, the community is a safer place.”

If convicted on both murder charges, Vybz Kartel could spend the rest of his life in prison.

Vybz Kartel’s musical associated Shawn Storm and Calvin “Moonie” Haye were also charged with Williams’ murder.

Suzanne Brown should be sent to prison without proof or evidences of any crime and see what she has to say after having spent 18 months in. She did not understand or read the article and made the stupidest comment.
A guilty man who has killed should rightfully spend his life in jail, but the fact that Mr Adijah Palmer has spent 18 months in prison without evidence or trial IS a testament of Jamaica corrupt and unfair system and is for the world to see.
