On Wednesday (October 10) Nelly tour bus was stopped by police officers at checkpoint in Sierra Blanca, Texas. After an extensive search, officers discovered marijuana, heoin and a loaded gun.
According to TMZ, cops discovered 36 small bags of heroin totaling .64 ounces, a loaded .45 pistol and a duffle bag containing 10 pounds of marijuana.
Police detained 7 people who were traveling in the bus including the rapper. One of the passengers, Brian Keith Jones, later admitted that the drugs and gun was his. Police later released the others including Nelly.
In a statement released to TMZ, Nelly has denied the contraband was his.
“It is my understanding a member of my staff made an unfortunate decision to bring unlawful materials onto our tour bus that resulted in his arrest this morning,” said Nelly. “Neither I nor anyone else on the tour bus was aware of his decision to bring these on board. Law enforcement officials did not press charges against anyone other than that individual.”
