PETA Lashes Out At Rihanna Over Snake Skin Boots [Photo]

Rihanna again finds herself on the wrong side of PETA.

Rihanna, who steps out earlier this week in a snake skin boot, caught the ire of the animal rights organization. On Monday Rihanna stepped out wearing a leather skit, a sweat shirt and a knee high snake skin boot. After seeing the photos, a rep for the People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals (PETA) issued a statement condemning Rihanna’s choice of attire.

“Rihanna may not have a clue that snakes killed for boots are often nailed to a tree and skinned alive. Of course, they can’t go on Oprah to cry about it,” the organization said in the statement, while making references to Rihanna’s recent “Oprah’s Next Chapter” interview.

“Wearing reptile skin is creepy and callous, and it makes her look even more out of touch. She and Lady Gaga seem so desperate to be freaks instead of recognized for their talents that you have to wonder if they realize that they are being laughed at,” the organization added.

This is not the first time Rihanna and other celebrities finds themselves at the receiving end of a backlash from the group.
