Busy Signal Extradition Date Drawing Close

Although it is still unclear the exact date he will depart Jamaica for the United States, Busy Signal’s extradition date could be closer than we thought.

Sources inside the police force told Urban Islandz that Busy Signal is still in a holding cell in Kingston, and is expected to be escorted to the United States by U.S. Marshalls in the coming days.

Last month, the Alliance dancehall star waived his rights to an extradition hearing when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate’s Court. His legal team, headed by former government minister K D Knight, says Busy will only face charges of absconding bail in the United States.

Signal, whose real name is Glendale Gordon, was arrested three weeks ago at the Norman Manley International airport in Kingston, after a tour in Europe.

He was arrested on an extradition warrant stemming from a drug related case in 2002 in Minnesota.
