Busy Signal Could Loose Pepsi Endorsement Deal

Embattled dancehall star Busy Signal could loose out on a major endorsement deal with Pepsi Jamaica amidst his recent legal woes.

The soda company removed a television commercial featuring the deejay, just days after his arrest in Kingston on a extradition warrant.

Pepsi head of marketing, Carlo Redwood, made the revelation earlier this week.

“We have stopped running the ads until we get a clear understanding of what is the situation with the artiste,” Redwood said in a statement. “Obviously, we have to kind of understand what the situation is before we decide what’s our next step in terms of the advertising that we have.”

Redwood also noted that the company has not yet made an official decision where the endorsement deal is concern.

Busy Signal, whose real name is Glendale Gordon, made his first court appearance yesterday since his arrest on Monday. He was, however, denied bail and subsequently waived his rights to a extradition court hearing.

The “One More Night” deejay will be extradited to the United States next month.
