Akon Preps All Reggae Album

Hip Hop star Akon is no stranger to reggae/dancehall. The rapper, who has worked with the likes of Mavado, Vybz Kartel, Sizzla, Shabba Ranks and Sean Paul, recently announced that he will be releasing an all reggae album immediately after his upcoming LP “Stadium.”

Akon caught the reggae fever during his visit to Jamaica in January, where he spends some time with some of the Marley brothers, including Julian, Damian and Stephen Marley at the Tuff Gong studio.

“I always said to myself, ‘When I get to that position when I can do an all-reggae album, I would love to do it,’ and those guys are the best to do it with,” Akon told Billboard.com.

During his visit to Jamaica, Akon visited the world famous Bob Marley museum and went to several local parties with the Marley brothers.

Akon album “Stadium” is due in stores in September. The album features an appearance from Stephen Marley on a track titled “Just A Man.”
