Nicki Minaj Opens Up About Her Father’s On Nightline, GMA Nip Slip [Video]

Nicki Minaj made a special appearance on ABC’s Nightline last night where she sat down with Juju Chang.

The Roman Reloaded rapper opens up about her use of the “F-bomb,” her father’s abusive past, appealing to young fans, comparisons to Lady Gaga and her nipple slip on “Good Morning America.”

My father was abusive. We were afraid for [my mother’s] life because whenever he would have a real bad outburst, he would threaten to kill her,” Nicki Minaj said about her childhood.

Nicki Minaj also discredits allegations that her infamous nip slip on Good Morning America was a publicity stunt.

“I’m so sorry about that. People are ridiculous if they think I would use that as a stunt. I would never, ever, ever—swear to God—do something like that on purpose. That’s ridiculous. I would never do that.”

Nicki Minaj young fans mean a lot to her, but she said she doesn’t forget where she is coming from.

“I don’t want to offend moms or children, like when they come and pay their money to see a show,” she said. “But I didn’t come in the game to be an artist that appealed to kids either—and I’m a crazy lunatic.”

The “Starships” rapper said she keeps one special fan, 8-year-old YouTube sensation Sophia Grace, in mind when she is in the studio recording. “We have a running joke. Can Sophia Grace sing that?”
