Romain Virgo Big Winner At Linkage Awards

Reggae singer Romain Virgo was a big winner at last Sunday’s Linkage Awards in New York City.

The former Rising Star winner took home the trophy for Male Vocalist of the Year, Most Consistent Artiste of the Year and Recording Artiste of the Year awards.

A humble Romain Virgo said he was very surprised to be nominated and eventually won so many awards.

“It was a surprise to not only be nominated for so many, but to also win them,” the “Who Feels It Knows It” singer said. “I’m happy and honoured by it and I really couldn’t have done it without the support of the fans. So I want to thank them all.”

Romain Virgo rose to fame in 2007 when he became the youngest contestant to win the Digicel Rising Stars talent show. Virgo later inked a deal with Reggae/dancehall label VP Records, where he released a slew of hits singles including Caan Sleep, Who Feels It Knows It, Wanna Go Home, System and more.

Virgo is gearing up to release his sophomore album The System in April 2012.
