According to E! News, Jay-Z confirmed the birth revealing the baby name is Blue Ivy Carter.
Beyonce reportedly gave birth late Saturday evening via natural birth at the Lennox Hill Hospital. NY Post reported that the power couple rented out an entire floor at the prestigious Lennox Hill Hospital in New York city.
The name Ivy comes from the plant which symbolizes eternity. Greek and Roman societies admired the ivy plant for its hardiness and longevity. They believed the plant aided fertility.
Beyonce’s pregnancy was one of the most watch celebrity pregnancy of the last year, with several gossip sites alleging that her baby bump was fake.
