Dancehall diva D’Angel is riding a high in dancehall with several new hit singles and an award.
The estrange ex-wife of Beenie Man took home the award for Female Singjay of the Year at the recent Music Industry Award ceremony held on Tuesday (Sept 27) in Kingston.
In a release to the media D’Angel thanked her fans for their support.
“I feel honoured to have been chosen and thank my fans for their undying support. I will continue to put out good music that represents women and the dancehall in a positive way,” D’Angel said.
In the release, D’Angel will be shooting a video for her new single “Break Free,” which has been in heavy rotation on the airwaves since its debut last month. The song is believed to be a response to her recent divorce from Beenie Man.
“All the media is invited, it will be a wonderful shoot because I am using the amazing director, Mykal Cushnie, so you know it will be fabulous,” she said in the release.
