Khristopher Scores First Number 1 video

After much hard work and creativity, popular Jamaican singer Khristopher, also known as Singry, has finally scored a number one video. The video for the track “Do Whatever” was released in May 2011 and has already reached number one on the Carivibez/DJ Res-Q Top 20 Music Video Charts. It has only been on the charts for 12 weeks and has made great strides since it’s debut at number 20 in the first week. Now, holding strong at number 1 for the passed 2 weeks, Khristopher is hoping to stay there for as long as it takes.

It has been a long road but with the genuine support he’s been receiving, Khristopher is delighted at hearing the news of this achievement. “I was in my hometown of Trelawny when my agent broke the news to me. I couldn’t stop smiling. I even began dancing!” said an elated Khristopher about the news. It was his producer and band member, Andre “Dretegs” Hawthorne who first realized that the video is number one. He then blasted the news on his Blackberry Messenger profile where it caught the attention of Khristopher’s agent, Lesley Hayles. Khristopher is more focused now and determined at what this success will bring him. It is a feat worth going even harder for. “It just goes to show that once you do good music and work hard at what you do, you will prevail,” says Dretegs. The team is working tirelessly at reaching certain goals where seeing Khristopher at the height of his career is the ultimate destination.

The single was produced by Dretegs and features DJ Blazer from Xcitement Music in New York. The video was directed by Deus Beni with styling and make-up done by Niki Chin Designs. So far, “Do Whatever” is on regular rotation on “Dancehall Connections” program hosted by DJ Hypeness and aired on Cablevision channel #68 in the Bronx, Fridays at 11pm EST. It is also online at,, and as well as with its constant support. Richard Banton has featured “Do Whatever” on his “Banton Report” show on which airs in Canada, USA and England. There was also a write up in The Jamaica Gleaner about the video doing well. However, Khristopher is most appreciative of the staff at Carivibez TV for even debuting “Do Whatever” on the charts, with special mention of Brian Gibbs and DJ Res-Q in particular. Also, Khristopher wanted to thank Phlexx from for the link to, Fire Bones from Omega Radio in England and Dr. Ev Richardson from Caribbean Radio Show in New York for the great interviews, as well as fellow artist Xyclone for the support and promotions, DJ Warbeezy from Cancer Hi-Power Sound and Mixx 96 FM, DJ Ali Patch and Richie Starz of Starz 91.7 FM in South Florida and DJ Kitt from Supahype’s 007 Sound in Jamaica for endorsing Khristopher to the max. Also, Khristopher and his team is grateful for Johann Dawes and the Hype TV family for premiering “Do Whatever” on local TV.

While “Do Whatever” strives to break records, Khristopher is currently working on several new projects, even while in Jamaica doing an island-wide in-the-streets promotion on his latest track “Search For You” on the Mixup Riddim, produced by Platinum Kids Production. The team is always appreciative of the votes listeners have been putting in to get Khristopher at number one and hopes that the fans will continue to vote in order to keep the video at the top for weeks to come. This goes to show that people still love good music that’s well put together with the talent of the artists and musicians involved.
