Corey Todd Assault Trial Begins November

American-Jamaican businessman Corey Todd have his trial date set for November 16, after appearing in court on Tuesday. Todd is facing charges of assault stemming from an incident involving Stone Love selector Bill Cosby.

Allegations are that Corey Todd drop a box of CD on the selector, real name Dwayne Burke, who was playing a particular Vybz Kartel diss song aimed at Todd.

According to Burke, Todd also threw a banner on him before he was hit with the box.

Todd later admitted to an altercation taking place & that he did indeed drop a banner on Cosby’s head but implied that the altercation was nowhere near physical.

Todd attorney, Everton Dewar, told the court that his client was innocent on the charge of assault occasioning bodily harm.

Dewar told the court that on the day in question, the selector played nine songs that were done by Vybz Kartel but when he played one which disrespected his client, Todd told him not to play it and he refused.

The lawyer said his client threw the box at the artiste but it bounced on the turn table and did not hit Burke. According to Dewar, Burke reported the matter because of influence.

Corey Todd is the former business partner of Vybz Kartel, well known as the brain behind the once popular Street Vybz Rum. Todd is now working with the likes of Beenie Man and Aidonia to launch new products such as Yaad Swag Rum.
