Nicki Minaj, Tyler The Creator, Katy Perry Big Winners At The VMA

Katy Perry and Adele lead the pack of winners at the 2011 MTV Video Music Awards with three trophies.

Perry won “Video of the Year,” “Best Collaboration,” and “Best Special Effects” awards, while Adele won “Best Art Direction,” “Best Cinematography,” and “Best Editing” for her video “Rolling In The Deep.”

“Well didn’t we have a night to remember,” Perry tweeted after the VMAs. “Thanks for making me feel the love tonight. Cheers to us!”

Lady Gaga accepted her awards as male alter ego, Jo Calderone. Gaga won “Best Female Video,” and “Best Video With a Message” awards for her song “Born This Way.”

“I couldn’t be more overwhelmed and grateful as I am tonight,” Gaga tweeted to fans. “Little monsters inspire me. Never give up on your vision, you were born this way.”

Other big winners on Sunday night (Aug 28) including Tyler, The Creator for “Best New Artist”, Britney Spears for “Best Pop Video,” Foo Fighters for “Best Rock Video,” Nicki Minaj for “Best Hip-Hop Video” and Beyoncé for “Best Choreography.”
