Mavado Charged For Assaulting 5-O

Dancehall Gully Gad Mavado finds himself in more legal trouble on Monday (June 13) over an alleged altercation with an off duty police officer earlier that day.

Reports reaching Urban Islandz are that Mavado resist a search by an off duty police officer while attempting to enter a night club in New Kingston. Allegations are that a tussle ensued and a member of Mavado’s entourage was shot, while was police officer was wounded.

An eye witness told Urban Islandz that the incident caused tension to escalate infront the Quad night club where a furious Bounty Killer had to be restrained by Wayne Marshall.

“As soon as mi reach mi hear di shot fire and people start run and scream,” the eye witness said. “It was a guy related to Mavado that got shot… Wayne Marshall was there holding back Bounty Killer from intervening, they look like they wanted to beat the gate security.”

The wounded man was rushed to the Kingston Public Hospital where he was admitted in serious but stable condition.

Mavado and Bounty Killer was named as person of interest by the Half Way Tree police early in the day. Both deejays turned themselves in to officers, who later charged Mavado with assault and release Bounty Killer.

Vado was release on a JM$30,000 bond.

Just last week charges against Mavado was dropped following an altercation at Club Jamaica Jamaica in St. Anns last month.
