PR: Reggae Artist G Tee Shotta Snags Top 20 Spot On Billboard Charts

After landing on the Billboard Top 20 Hot Singles Chart with his new hit single release “Name Brand,” Reggae artist, G Tee Shotta is on his way to fame and fortune.

Shotta is set to launch a five city TV, radio, and retail promotional tour in March 2011, further solidifying his brand and proving to be a force to be reckoned with.
After 15-years on the music scene, the Brooklyn-bred musician, who has performed with the likes of international mega stars such as Buju Banton and Shabba Ranks, has witnessed his new single wind out of the dance club scene and catapult him into musical history. You could say Shotta’s day has finally come. “I eat, sleep, and breathe music but there is a time and a place for everything,” Shotta states, “And I had to wait for my time.”

Citing his Georgetown, Guyana roots coupled with a family upbringing in a home brimming with music, Shotta describes himself as a “very versatile artist.” His Reggae-infused, heart-pounding, lyrical musical stories bring a new dimension to the Reggae genre — one which combines the elements of Pop, Hip-Hop, and Reggae. “It’s taking all of these types of music,” explains Shotta, who launched his own label Top Shotta Recordz to help other rising artists reach stardom.

What sets Shotta aside from the rest of the clan? Clarity of purpose, a no alcohol, no cigarettes mantra, and a gift for on-the-fly lyrics, which often, Shotta admits, seem almost divinely inspired. “Once you have the hook, then the music will form around it,” he says. “You cannot build a house without having the first brick, so you need to find your brick, your hook.”

As Shotta continues to secure his place in the limelight, his deep-rooted sense of community has opened a new door for him as ambassador for the Ronald McDonald House Charities. In his new role, his hook will be to bring a message of hope and perseverance to follow your dreams to young children in need and their families. Just take his basic tenets to heart: “You can reach your dreams as long as you strive for them,” Shotta says firmly, “and you can defeat the impossible.” Shotta was also awarded the Key’s to the city of Middletown Ohio, for his work in the community and motivating Ohio’s youth.

With a penchant for musical prose set to an infectious backbeat and the determination to be a positive role model for today’s youth, Shotta is shaking up the foundation of the music industry, one brick at a time.
