Buju Lawyer Opens Strong… DEA Agent Says There Is No Evidence

Buju Banton lawyer David Markus yesterday open his defense in the high profile trial.

The DEA Agent earlier in the day testified that Buju Banton was an established drug trafficker before the singer allegedly tried to buy cocaine from an undercover officer in Florida last year. “Do you have any contacts where I can get cocaine?” Banton allegedly asked a government informant named Alexander Johnson in a recorded conversation.

But Gargamel lawyer David Markus cross examine the DEA agent, who confirmed that he did not have any evidence that Mark Myrie — Buju’s real — received any money from any drug deal. The agent went on to confess that he could find no evidence that the artiste had collected any money from drug dealing.

Like we said before Buju could face up to life in federal prison if convicted.
