Vybz Kartel Freed From Lockup Yesterday July 16

Dancehall prodigy Adijah Palmer popularly known as Vybz Kartel was released from police lockup yesterday (July 16) evening. The artists legal team was successful in getting minister of national security Dwight Nelson to sign the document for his release.

This release means that Kartel will now be able to perform on Reggae Sumfest this Thursday in Montego Bay. Sources close to the artist told us that he is happy to be out, but is not happy about the length of time he was detained.

“All now wi no know wha dem detain him fa,” the sources told us in Jamaican dialect.

Kartel was detained on June 29th after he turned himself into the Portmore police. He was listed as a person of interest under the State of Emergency act now going on in the Jamaican capital. Vybz spend 14 days behind bars before he was released.
