Miss Trinidad & Tobago UK 2010 To Relinquish Crown

Organizers of the Miss Trinidad & Tobago UK Pageant Carivog Internation earlier this week announced that Anushka Ramjag this year’s crown champion has relinquished her title.

In the statement Carivog representatives states that Ramjag will be giving up her United Kingdom residency to return to Trinidad. The Trinidad beauty is on a government scholarship studying Biology at the Imperial College in London. She is graduating this year and must return to her native Trinidad under the terms of her scholarship.

“I genuinely enjoy meeting and engaging others in conversation and promoting my Trini culture and enjoyed the exposure the title brings with it,” Anushka told Journalist.

She has offered to continue to support Miss T&T UK charity Kind based in Trinidad when she returns home. Carivog International has now conferred the title to the first runner up, Melanie Peterkin-Phillip, who represented Port-of-Spain, and also won the title of Miss Elegance. Melanie is a very ambitious young woman having gained an MSc in International Politics and Humans Rights. She has many accomplishments, including being a management consultant, a fluent speaker of Spanish and is currently learning Russian.
