Omarion Announced Ashanti Has Been Added To The Millennium Tour Lineup

Omarion has announced that Ashanti is joining the Millennium Tour 2020.

It was just last week that former B2K lead singer Omarion broke the internet when he announced that the Millennium Tour was returning for a second leg in 2020. Of course, fans were excited about the tour that grossed $6.7 million this year, but the real tea was that Omarion was returning to the stage without his former bandmates. The tour subtracted B2K and added Bow Wow, Soulja Boy, and Sammie to the list after O’s bandmate Lil Fizz began publicly dating his baby mother, Apryl Jones. All of that Love and Hip Hop drama aside, fans have even more to look forward to next year as they’ve just added R&B icon Ashanti to the lineup.

Omarion announced Thursday that the “Foolish” singer will be joining the tour as a “special guest,” and she’s the only female artist on the bill so far. Fans on social media last week were asking why the lineup only incorporated male acts, so this could possibly be a response to some of that backlash. The tour that pays tribute to hit acts from the early 2000s will also bring back the Ying Yang Twins, Lloyd, and Pretty Ricky. But there is no way you can think of early 2000’s music without bringing up Ashanti and Murder Inc., so it was only right that she be added to the mix.

Ashanti and her Murder Inc. partner Ja Rule appeared as surprise guests on a few dates on the tour this past summer. She also just recently appeared on the cover and as a feature on Tory Lanez’s Chixtape V project, which sampled songs from the top of the millennium.
