Alborosie Take 2011 MOBO Award For Best Reggae Act

Italian born reggae star Alborosie won the 2011 MOBO award for best reggae act at the 16th annual “Music Of Black Origin” ceremony in Glasgow UK.

Alborosie, real name Alberto D’Ascola, beat out stiff competition from Khago, Mavado, Damian Marley and Nas to take home the prestigious award.

Alborosie is an Italian reggae artist. Born and raised in Marsala, Sicily, Italy, but now residing in Kingston, Jamaica. He is a multi-instrumentalist, being proficient in guitar, bass, drums and keyboard.

Other big winners includes Jessie J, who took home 4 awards, Rihanna and Tinie Tempah.
