Shyne Talks Touring With Barrington Levy and Performing At Reggae Sumfest

Shyne seems to be getting ready to hit the road for a major tour with reggae icon Barrington Levy. The Belizean rapper served 9 years in prison for an infamous club shooting involving Diddy back in 1999.

Since his release from prison in 2009, Shyne has been mostly dormant in the music business releasing only a handful of singles. Shyne was in Jamaica for Reggae Sumfest performing with Levy where he spoke about the tour.

“Barrington Levy you know I shared a lot of history with him,” Shyne said when asked about his presence in Jamaica. “If it wasn’t for him I don’t know if I would be as successful with two hit records that we had so I owed him a great deal.”

Shyne also spoke about an upcoming joint world tour with himself and Levy called the Shyne and Barrington World Tour.

Back in 2000, Shyne and Barrington Levy collaborated on two mega hit singles “Bad Boyz” and “Bonnie & Shyne” that is featured on the Brooklyn emcee’s debut self-titled album.

“Bad Boyz” peaked at 57 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and No. 9 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart.
