Beyonce New Album ‘LEMONADE’ Debut At No. 1 On Billboard

Beyonce’s new album “LEMONADE” debut at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart this week after selling 653,000 copies in the first week of release.

While this may not come of a surprise to us given how much Beyonce and the project dominated social media over the last week or so. According to official statistics from Nielsen-Soundscan, 485,000 of that sales are pure album sales.

This earn Beyonce the biggets opening week for albums since the start of the year. That may not be for too long given how successful Drake new album “Views” has been since its released on Thursday night. That album reportedly sold over 600,000 copies in one night.

Beyonce has released six solo albums so far and all six of them debut at No. 1 on the chart. “LEMONADE” is the followup to her 2013 self-titled LP.

Prince is also maintaining his presence on the chart from beyond the grave with 391,000 of his The Very Best of Prince album to hold firm at No. 2.

Prince Purple Rain album is also at No. 3 with 150,000 copies sold over the last week.
