Vybz Kartel Trial To Go Into Another Week Says Judge

Vybz Kartel and his four co-accused will have to wait another week to know their fate in the Home Circuit court.

This afternoon Justice Lennox Campbell told the court that he had under estimated the amount of time left in the trial. With the prosecution barely wrapping closing arguments and four more lawyers to take the floor. Campbell says the trial will go into next week.

Kartel’s attorney Tom Tavares-Finson made his closing statement in court yesterday.

Lead prosecutor Jeremy is expected to wrap up his closing remarks tomorrow morning. Then attorneys representing the other accuse men will each make their closing statements.

Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, André St John, and Shane Williams are on trial for the alleged murder of Clive “Lizard” Williams.

The Crown says Williams was beaten to death on August 16, 2011 at the dancehall star’s house in Havendale over two missing firearm.

His body has yet to be found.

Jeremy Taylor told the jury today that Vybz Kartel did not have an alibi for the time when Clive Williams was allegedly murdered.
