Rihanna, whose real name is Robyn Fenty, says in court documents that a series of mismanagement from the accounting firm left her close to bankrupt at the end of 2009.

“The defendants advised Ms. Fenty by e-mail that purchasing a home in Los Angeles ‘would be a good investment’ despite knowing Ms. Fenty was experiencing financial difficulties,” Rihanna’s attorney Edward Estrada said.

Rihanna ended up losing $9 million as a result of the bad deal, since the house suffered extensive water damage from leaking and mold and would required millions of dollars in upgrades.

Rihanna sued the accountants for $35 million in 2012 after firing them.
