Judge Handed Down Ruling, Vybz Kartel To Answer Murder Case

Vybz Kartel and his four co-accused will have to answer their murder charge now before the Home Circuit court.

Days after defense attorneys made a no case submission, Justice Lennox Campbell handed down the ruling moments ago rejecting the application.

The judge ruling means that Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, Shawn “Storm” Campbell, Kahira Jones, André St John, and Shane Williams still has a case before the courts to answer to.

The prosecution presented a case over 45 days with 24 witness making their case that Kartel and his co-accused beat Clive “Lizard” Williams on August 16, 2011 at a house in Havendale over two missing guns.

The men then disposed of his body which has yet to be found.

Defense attorneys say the entire case is a conspiracy against their clients to secure a conviction.

Yesterday Justice Lennox Campbell, the presiding judge over the case, says he expected the case to be wrapped up by next week.

The panel of jury has also been reduced to 11 jurors after the judge excused one juror for personal reasons beyond her control.

  1. Ok everyone, I not a Jamaican and I am definitely not a vybz Kartel fan; I really dislike his music, but I am studying the law. The case is indeed weak; and the right terminology for hearsay is call circumstantial evidence. These men cannot be found guilty, neither there should have never been a court case without a body and a murder weapon. Also, base on the key witness statement, why would the perpetrators keep him alive after according to him he witness his friend got murdered? Then do you really think these men would have conversation about perpetrating over their phones, knowing that it will become incriminating evidence? Lastly, did the CSI investigators do a thorough investigation at the crime scene to confirmed if the blood type matches the dead man? Even if his blood were present at the crime scene, it does not confirmed he is dead. It could be many possibilities. For example, maybe he’s working with the law enforce officials to frame an innocent man, so decided to cut himself and leave it at the crime scene. Maybe vybz Kartel had an altercation with one of his friends and they are trying to retaliate against him. Maybe they are jealous that he is successful and making a difference in his community and they despise him for it. And I can go on all day, so you see instead of judging/accusing perceived the evidence carefully and stop letting your personal feelings blinded you from perceiving what could be an innocent man being incarcerated for maybe 25 to life.

u studying law??? thought the law is about facts… stop making assumptions about what could have happen and speak to the legality of what did happen… then maybe somebody would believe you studying law

Every time a black celeb bring light to the ghetto Babylon shut him down!!! Dr king, Garvey, Mandela, Tupac, Kartel…And they get another black man to do it for them!! Stop judging our own people harsh as a black man I give them benefit of a doubt! Stop black on black hate!! What is the difference between a violent film and a violent song apart from it is wrong if a black man do it

    • clownseverywhere

funny you put Kartel in the same class with Garvey, Mandela and Dr King… even Tupac would be ashamed of that comparison…
lol…black on black hate under a story of a man who didn’t like his black skin…. what a joke

  3. Kartel don’t worry your head the jury aren’t no fools they see and know what’s going on in the system , The politician want to shut you up because your doing what every out spoken artist did show up what they are doing to the poor hard working people of Jamaica the Lord be with you .

  5. In my opinion kartel is guilty. Did the police fabricate some of the evidence in order to create a stronger case against them, I believe so, but there are a lot of evidence in this case that the defense couldn’t explain away . I don’t know what you people talking about hearsay, every court case in the world is base on hearsay the judge, jury, lawyers and prosecution all are not there when the crime is committed. They have an eye witness to the crime depending on if the jury believe his story is ultimately what will be the main reason if they walk or not.

    • Exactly….kartel have sum fi do wid d crime but d way how d Babylon dem handle d situation, dem mek d boss look innocent n me love that lol

  12. Even if people believe the evidence is fabricated they still need to defend their case. Vybz Kartel and others need to make their case and prove that the evidence were fabricated. This whole case is a sham.

  13. How is the judge not seeing this ‘evidence’ is fabricated and modified by the cops in order to secure a conviction!
