Rap icon Common is one of a handful of veteran rappers returning to music this year.

The rapper/actpr has announced that his new album Nobody Smiling will be released sometime this year.

Nobody Smiling will mark Common’s 10th studio album. Power producer No I.D. will executive produce the project.

Speaking with REVOLT, Common said the project started out as an EP and has blossomed into a full album.

“2014 will be one of my greatest times in music,” Common said. “I feel excited about the project that I’m working on. It’s called Nobody Smiling and it’s an album that originally I was making an EP but, we’ve just been making a lot of songs–myself and No I.D.—and I liked the direction.”
