Vybz Kartel Trial: Judge Rules Juror Misconduct Will Not Affect Case

An alleged jury misconduct threatened to derail Vybz Kartel trial this week but that will not happen.

Presiding judge Lennox Campbell handed down the ruling yesterday saying that it was an innocent meeting between the juror and the defense attorney.

“It was an innocent meeting and it is most unlikely that it will in any way affect the proceedings before the court,” Justice Lennox Campbell told the court.

The judge called the juror and attorneys representing the defense and the crown to his chamber on Tuesday morning to inquiry about the allegation.

The alleged encounter took place over the Christmas holiday when the juror visited the office of the attorney.

Vybz Kartel trial continues today with former head of the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Cybercrime Unit, Patrick Linton, giving testimony behind closed doors.
