Sizzla Kalonji continues to receive fallout from his anti-gay laced performance at Sting 2013.
Organizers of the Melkweg festival in Amsterdam have removed the reggae/dancehall star from the lineup of this year’s show.
Sizzla was set to performed on the show on March 16 in Amsterdam. However, organizers pulled the plug on the reggae veteran citing video footage from a Jamaican concert where Sizzla performed anti-gay songs.
Promoters say they will be refunding patrons who already purchased tickets.
Sting has also issued a ban on Sizzla from the show after promoters complained that he was warned about anti-gay lyrics before taking the stge,
Sizzla Kalonji, born Miguel Collins, is one of a handful of reggae/dancehall artists to sign the Reggae Compassionate Act in 2007.
Signing of the documents means that the artists are agreeing not to perform ant-gay songs, or what the gay community labeled as “murder music.”
