Nicki Minaj Sued By Musician Clive Tanaka Over “Starships”
“Starships” is one of Nicki Minaj‘s biggest hits to date, but the single could land her in some legal trouble.
A Chicago musician name Clive Tanaka thinks Nicki Minaj bootleg his song when she recorded “Starships.”
Tanaka, who recorded “Neu Chicago” in 2009, is suing Nicki Minaj and the writers of “Starships” for an undisclosed amount.
“Starships” was written by RedOne, real name Nadir Khayat, Wayne Hector, Rami Yacoub, and Carl Falk.
“We believe they are similar to the point that it is nearly impossible for it to be a coincidence,” Tanaka’s lawyer, Christopher Niro told the Chicago Tribune.
