Vybz Kartel Second Murder Trial Delay To July 8

Vybz Kartel murder trials continues to see more delays in the Jamaican justice system almost two years after his arrest.

The “Cake Soap” deejay murder case in relation to the shooting death of St. Catherine businessman/promoter Barrington “Bossie” Burton was mentioned in the Home Circuit Court today.

However, a judge postponed the trial to July 8th.

Prosecutors told the court that they are unable to locate their main witness. The Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions, DPP, has indicated that they will proceed with the trial using the witness statement under Section 31 (D) of the Evidence Act.

Last month Vybz Kartel other murder trial was also delayed to November 18. The deejay has been behind bars since September 2011.

The below tweet was sent out from Vybz Kartel official Twitter page today.

Vybz Kartel, born Adidja Palmer, was charged for Burton’s murder along with Nigel Thompson and Lenburgh McDonald.

Last week Senior Deputy Director of Public Prosecutions Jeremy Taylor told a judge that Vybz Kartel attempted to bribe the witness in the case with $3 million.

Taylor also accused the former Portmore Empire boss of being the mastermind behind an underground criminal enterprise that trade illegal guns.

    this whole thing is BS….all this foolishness bout no witness and no prosecution….if they cant do anything about di trial let go di man to his friends and family…..there’s more money to be made andmore music to put out. get it together…..the jamaican legal system is so corrupt. I guarantee if it was here in the US he’d a walked free a year ago. free adidja
