Kemar ‘Flava’ McGregor To Be Featured On “R&B Divas” Television Show

Jamaican pop-reggae producer Kemar ‘Flava’ McGregor will make his prime-time television debut on the TV One Network reality show, “R&B Divas” Wednesday, May 8, 2013.

McGregor will appear in Episode 2 of the program’s second season, in which he will be seen producing music for one of the show’s stars, Grammy Award-nominated R&B singer Syleena Johnson. TV One will air an encore presentation of the episode May 15, 2013.

TV One released a 3-minute sneak peek of the episode on the network website Monday, In the preview, McGregor is seen recording Syleena Johnson while singing her upcoming single, “So Big,” which McGregor produced.

McGregor also will appear in Episode 7, which will air live footage of a recording session between McGregor, Johnson and R&B legend Musiq Soulchild, who are preparing to release a collaborative pop-reggae album, titled “9INE,” this summer.

“Working with Syleena and Musiq is a dream come true,” said McGregor. “I have always wanted to record R&B singers over pop reggae tracks ever since I first conceived the idea for pop reggae. I really like watching ‘R&B Divas’ because of the talented artists on the show – like Faith Evans, Keke Wyatt and Monifah. I’m a big fan of them, so it feels really exciting to be a part of the show.”

The “9INE” album will feature three pop-reggae tracks apiece by Musiq Soulchild and Syleena Johnson, and three romantic vocal duets by both singers, totaling nine songs. The tentative release date for the 9INE album is July 9, 2013.
