“Its a big blow to the camp because Sparta and everybody was upbeat to perform in Canada,” the source said. “But its one of those things you have to deal with being a hardcore dancehall star in Jamaica. Vybz Kartel is the biggest deejay out here and him can’t travel overseas so its just one of them things.”

Tommy Lee Canadian Shook tour was schedule to run from today through to February 24th.

Last month Tommy lee was forced to cancelled several tour dates in Canada due to illness.

Teamworx Entertain, the promoter behind Tommy Lee tour, has since issued a statement addressing the situation.

Read the full statement below:

Teamwork Productions takes this opportunity to inform the public that owing to circumstances beyond our control, the mini-tour of Canada, featuring dancehall artist, Tommy Lee Sparta, has been cancelled.

Teamwork Productions apologizes to all our prospective patrons and would like to state that we profoundly regret the inconvenience and disappointments that may arise as a result of this cancellation. We would also like to make it clear that we followed all the appropriate guidelines and made all the required deposits and payments to ensure that these shows for Montreal, Toronto and Niagara Falls would definitely take place this weekend.

Everything was moving smoothly and we were repeatedly assured by Tommy Lee’s management that there would be no visa or other issues and we were good to go. All tickets were purchased for Tommy Lee and his entourage to travel to Canada. It reached the point where Tommy Lee was to be interviewed at the Canadian High Commission in Kingston, Jamaica.

It was after the interview this afternoon (Thursday) that the officers at the High Commission in Kingston made the decision not to grant the visa to Tommy Lee. As a result of the deejay being denied the visa to travel to Canada, we had no choice but to cancel the event.
Ticket holders are being asked to return to the point-of-purchase to receive their refunds.
