Usain Bolt clocked the third fastest in history to win gold in the 200 meter finals at the London Olympic Games on Thursday night.

The 6-foot-5 sprinter stopped the clock at 19.32 seconds to leave his competitors in the dust. His training partners Yohan Blake and Warren Weir clocked 19.44 and 19.84 seconds respectively to take home silver and bronze.

“This is what I wanted and I got it. I’m very proud of myself,” Usain Bolt said.

“After a rough season I came out here and did it. I thought the world record was possible. I guess I was fast but not fit enough. I could feel my back strain a little bit, so all I did was to keep my form. I’m very dedicated to my work and London meant so much to me,” Bolt added.

Perhaps the biggest upset of the race was Warren Weir’s third place finish over American sprinter Wallace Spearman.

Usain Bolt became the first sprinter in history to win the sprint double back-to-back.
