Dancehall singjay Serani is no longer a part of the label he helped started, DASECA.
Last week rumors surfaced the artist is no longer a member of the hit-making group, and now Serani himself has confirmed those rumors to be true.
Serani, who is a co-founder of Daseca, told the Star that it was an amicable split.
The name Daseca represents all three members name in the order David, Serani and Craig.
This is what Serani has to say:
“I’m one of the founding members, Daseca has been around for 11 years and I recognise that my partners Craig and David, have grown substantially. I wanted to give them room to spread their wings. They are talented brothers and very good friends of mine.”
“I’m not saying it’s gonna be a split for good, and at this point if people want to continue to get top-quality work from all of us, then this is best. If they send me a rhythm, I’ll voice on it.
“I don’t know if they’re gonna change the name but it wouldn’t make sense. The name Daseca means unity, that is the meaning we assigned to it. If they need me, I’ll be there and if I need them, I know they’ll be there.”
Serani is now turning his attention to his newest project, the Rockstone Media Label.
“As the name suggests, rockstone means we are solid,” Serani said. “We’re gonna be putting out solid productions and solid artistes. We recently released Deep Jahi’s single Punching Bag under the label. The song was produced by Tiarro. Big up Tiarro, a talented engineer. Look out for more good work from me and Deep Jahi.”
The label first signee is the 2012 Magnum Kings and Queens winner, Deep Jahi.
